CII holds brainstorming session on rainwater harvesting and solar energy

Jamshedpur: Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) organized a session on �Preserving Future: The Smart Alternative – Session on Rain Water Harvesting and Solar Energy� at Adityapur Auto Cluster, Jamshedpur, to work towards the holistic development in driving initiatives of interest to the Industry and society at large.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner (DC) of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Chhavi Ranjan, said that Rainwater harvesting is the need of the hour. He encouraged industries in Adityapur to invest in rainwater harvesting in individual plants. He also mentioned on the global trends of fresh water availability and mentioned Adityapur should lead as an example

Akansha Ranjan, Managing Director, Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (AIADA) mentioned that solar energy should not be only looked as an investment subsidy but a commercial viability for entrepreneurs and encourages and the industries to have solar roof in urban areas. She also highlighted the importance of environmental sustainability

Arvind Kumar, Project Director Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency(JREDA) shared the various incentives of Government of Jharkhand that is available for solar energy .

Sunil Bhaskaran, Chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council & Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, said, �Renewable energy is extremely beneficial as it is non-polluting and its generation can be decentralized. There is also need to take initiatives to bring in technologies for greater use of this energy source to combat climate change by reducing the emission of green house gases.�

Killol Kamani, Vice Chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council & Managing Director, Samarth Engineering Private Limited, said, �We at CII have been consciously taking steps to encourage our members towards an inclusive growth oriented business model. We strongly believe on a holistic approach and campaigns to advice and support the Industry and society towards better living.�

Ashish Mathur, Convener, CII Infrastructure Panel &, Managing Director, JUSCO observed that all over the world, it is evident that companies are shifting to invest in renewable energy development and alternative water resources; this makes the cost of alternative technology adoption significantly lower.

Taking the session forward Sharad Kumar ,Chief Power Management, Tata Steel Ltd talked and shared with the industry members about the New Trends in the field of Renewable Energy and Conservation

Don David, Engineer, CII Triveni Institute of Water, shared the best practices in Rainwater Harvesting that can be applied by the industry.
