Chhath preparation in Jamshedpur: Municipal bodies intensify cleaning work

Jamshedpur, Oct 27: Chhath preparations in the city has picked up pace with the three municipal bodies speeding up cleaning work across various Chhath Puja ghats.

Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC), Jugsalai Nagar Parishad and Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) have gone all out to ensure cleaning of all Chhath Puja venues by 29th October. The City Managers and other officials of the municipal bodies are closely monitoring the preparations. Tata Steel UISL teams are also cleaning the Chhath ghats across the city, sources said.

MMC City Manager said red flags would be put up near danger zones in the Kharkai and Swarnarekha rivers to prevent devotees from endangering themselves by crossing them. Similar arrangements would be made at other water bodies, he said.

Sources said generators would be arranged at all Chhath ghats including Swarnarekha Chhath Ghat at Sakchi and Domuhani Chhath Ghat at Sonari for illumination purpose. Besides, the administration is planning to set up five changing rooms reach at all major Chhath ghats. At smaller ghats, one changing room each would be set up, officials said.
