Chandil Tasar Silk in demand at IITF Delhi

Ranchi, Nov 22: Jharkhand is matching step by step with the theme Vocal for Local, Local to Global at the India International Trade Fair- 2022 being held at New Delhi.

Jharkhand which is the biggest producer of Tasar silk is enthralling everyone at the global fair with its silk clothes especially from Chandil in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district.  

Visitors to the fair are gradually attracted by seeing the special style of Khadi bandis, Tasar silk sarees, Chandil silk sarees, kurta-pajama and cap, Indo-Western dress made by the weavers and artisans of Jharkhand. The Khadi collection has remained everyone’s favorite at the Jharkhand Pavilion. Khadi stall representative Sushant told that this time the sale of Khadi products is very good, people’s interest in Khadi has increased. There is a huge crowd at the Khadi stall in Jharkhand Pavilion.

Organic farming in Jharkhand is being appreciated in the stall set up by department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department. Visitors are getting aware of the nuances of organic farming. The exhibition of organic products is also attracting the visitors.

A huge demand for Jharkhand’s honey can be seen in the stall set up by Jharkhand’s forest department. People are getting convinced of the sweetness of the honey of the state. The table top model displayed at the stall of Ranchi Smart City is also being liked by the visitors.

It may be known that this time Jharkhand is included in the fair as a partner state.

Around 29 states and union territories as well as overseas countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Belarus, Iran, Nepal, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Vietnam, China, Tunisia, Lebanon and Republic of Turkey have participated in the fair.
