If, at all, the question is raised as to who won the ICC Champions Trophy for India in 2025, there should be no second thought about it that the spin quartet of Kuldeep, Varun, Jadeja and Akshar Patel turned the chief wreckers of the other contenders. Together they got 90% of the wickets taken by Indian bowlers.
Spin has always been a strength in the Indian bowling line up. This reminds me of the unbeatable spin quartet of Bedi, Prasanna, Venkatraghavan and Chandrasekhar who once dominated the world cricket scenario with their wily tricks that won many Test matches for India. It seems that the spin magic is back with the combination of the present quartet. A word of praise for Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and manager Gautam Gambhir in particular who insisted on Varun Chakravarty to be included in playing eleven. I hope this quartet will not be disturbed and be allowed to continue for some more time to come.
