Chain snatching near Ramlila Maidan in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 12: In yet another incident raising concerns over public safety, a woman was injured after chain snatchers targeted her in the Sakchi police station area on Thursday night.
The incident occurred around 10 pm near Ramlila Maidan when two unidentified youths riding a motorcycle allegedly snatched a gold chain from Monica Singh while she was returning home to Sitaramdera on a scooter with her son after shopping at Sakchi Market.
According to the complaint lodged at Sakchi police station, the sudden attack caused her to lose control of the scooter and fall on the road, resulting in injuries.
After executing the snatching, the accused fled towards the MGM Hospital road.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and launched an investigation. CCTV cameras installed in the area are being examined to identify and trace the culprits.
The incident has sparked concerns among local residents, who claim that rising criminal activities in Sakchi have created a sense of insecurity. They have urged the police to intensify patrolling and take strict action against offenders. Police said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused at the earliest.
