Chaibasa, Oct 10: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organized an awareness event at Sadar Hospital on the occasion of World Mental Health Day today.

This event featured discussions on how disorganized and busy lifestyles can lead to mental health issues.

Addressing the gathring, Vishwanath Shukla, co-president of PDJ DLSA, emphasized the adverse effects of modern daily routines characterized by chaos and busyness. He noted that people’s mental awareness has declined, partly due to excessive smartphone usage, which, while bridging digital gaps, has also ensnared individuals in a web of personal and public responsibilities. He lamented the prevalence of a mechanical existence that often overrides human experiences.

Additionally, Shukla provided valuable insights into relevant laws and urged the public to avail themselves of the facilities offered by the authority.

Rajiv Kumar Singh, secretary of DLSA highlighted the pivotal role of mental health in shaping a healthy society and nation. He stressed the necessity for individuals to maintain good mental health alongside physical well-being for a balanced life. He drew attention to the global mental health crisis exacerbated by recent events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and conflicts, affecting millions worldwide.

He emphasized the importance of bridging gaps in mental health treatment and providing essential facilities, calling for support for mental health initiatives.
