Ranchi: In a significant development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the investigation into a fraud case involving MECON Limited. The case pertains to an alleged scam of Rs 85 lakh orchestrated by Hawks Security and Facility Services Private Limited, a company based in Odisha. MECON Limited filed a complaint with the Doranda police station on January 1, 2019, prompting the initiation of a case.
The accusation against Security and Facility Services Pvt. Ltd. suggests their involvement in deliberately creating counterfeit bank guarantees related to work orders issued by MECON Limited, Ranchi. This deceptive practice resulted in a financial loss of Rs 85 lakh for MECON Limited. The CBI has registered the case under number RC 024202A0001, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Brajesh Kumar from CBI ACB Ranchi has been assigned as the Investigating Officer (IO) for this case. The CBI is set to delve into the details of the fraudulent activities to bring those responsible to justice.
