Ranchi: As dense fog envelops various regions of Jharkhand, including the capital Ranchi, and some areas witness partial cloud cover, the cold weather prevails, with little relief in sight. The Meteorological Department predicts the persistence of morning fog and intense cold for the next two days. Subsequently, the state is expected to experience cloudy weather, prompting the department to issue a yellow alert.
According to the weather forecast, light to moderate rain is anticipated in the western parts of the state, including Chatra, Palamu, Latehar, and Garhwa districts, on January 10. Following the rain, fog and mist are expected in the mornings for the subsequent two days. Last Sunday witnessed mist and fog in various parts of the state, providing temporary relief as the sun briefly appeared in Ranchi.
The Meteorological Department notes that the morning chill is becoming more pronounced due to fog and mist in the surrounding areas, including the capital. Scientists attribute the changing weather patterns to western disturbances, with significant impacts expected on January 10, affecting various districts. The department forecasts weather fluctuations until Makar Sankranti, with no significant change in minimum temperatures over the next two days. However, a slight increase in temperature by 2 to 3 degrees is anticipated after this period.
