Candle March Held to Protest Alleged Fake Encounter of Bharat Tiwari

Jamshedpur: A candle march was organized at the Sakchi Roundabout here to protest the alleged fake encounter of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, a resident of Jawaniya village under the Shahpur assembly constituency in Bihar. A large number of community members participated in the event to pay their respects to the deceased and demand an impartial, high-level probe into the killing.

Addressing the gathering, attendees expressed deep concern that circumventing due legal process fundamentally weakens public trust in the justice system. Speakers unanimously called for a transparent investigation to bring the truth to light.

Community elder Kamal Kishore said, “The encounter of Bharat Tiwari raises multiple alarming questions. A high-level independent inquiry is necessary, so that the facts are made public.”

The organizers and speakers put forward several key demands to the administration. “Strict and swift action against all responsible police officers and personnel if any irregularities or guilt are uncovered in the investigation; A government job for one eligible member of the victim’s immediate family; Immediate and fair financial compensation to support the grieving family.”

Speakers emphasized that justice and operational transparency are the absolute cornerstones of a democracy. They noted that an unbiased probe into the death of any citizen is vital to preserving the common man’s faith in the law and the Constitution.

The event concluded with participants lighting candles in memory of Bharat Tiwari while demanding accountability. The gathering warned the administration that if a completely fair and independent investigation is not carried out, the community will be forced to escalate their agitation through democratic protests.
