BJP Jamshedpur Backs Turamdih Displaced Families’ Protest

Jamshedpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jamshedpur Mahanagar has extended its support to the sit-in protest organized by the Turamdih Displaced Committee. The demonstration is scheduled for Monday, June 22, at the Turamdih Mines Gate in Sundarnagar.

To amplify the movement, former Jharkhand Chief Minister and former Union Minister Arjun Munda will participate in the agitation to champion the rights of the displaced families.

Unresolved Demands of Nandup Mauza Families

Providing details about the agitation, BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Sanjeev Sinha stated that during the establishment of the Turamdih Mines, numerous families from the Nandup Mauza area were forced to endure severe hardships due to displacement.

• Acquisitions Made: The project acquired ancestral homes, fertile agricultural plots, traditional places of worship, and holy religious sites.
• The Issue: Despite losing their livelihoods and heritage, several critical resettlement, employment, and welfare issues remain unresolved by the management even after years of waiting.

“BJP stands firmly with the displaced families in their battle for dignity and fair rights, and we will effectively escalate their demands to both the government and the corporate management,” Sinha said.

Massive Mobilization Planned

Sinha said that hundreds of BJP workers from across the Jamshedpur metropolitan area will converge at the Turamdih Mines Gate at 10:00 AM on Monday. He appealed to all party cadres and local citizens to join the sit-in protest in large numbers to ensure the success of the displaced community’s movement.
