Bus coming from Ranchi overturns at Chandil, over a dozen injured

Jamshedpur, April 10: In a road mishap, about a dozen passengers were injured, one of them seriously when the bus they were travelling in overturned near Giridhari Hotel at Chandil on the NH-33 at Seraikela-Kharsawan district, on Monday morning. The bus Nataraj was coming to Jamshedpur from Ranchi as the mishap took place at about 10 am.

The injured were rescued by police and were rushed to MGM Medical College Hospital where nine passengers, including two women were released after first-aid as they had sustained minor injuries. Three of them were admitted.

As condition of one of the passengers, identified as Wakil Pandey (42) was serious, the government medical hospital referred him to the Tata Main Hospital.

The remaining two injured, Jagdish Mahato (28) and Arjun Bhagat (30) were admitted at the medical college hospital. The duo sustained internal injuries.

One of the injured said the bus was moving at a moderate speed and all of a sudden a cyclist came in the middle of the road.

For saving the cyclist, the driver took an abrupt turn and next moment the vehicle overturned.

A police team had come to the rescue of the passengers within five minutes of the mishap and arranged for quick shifting of them to the medical college hospital.
