Breakthrough in Jamshedpur’s Taklu Lohar murder case: Two arrested, pistol recovered

Jamshedpur: In a significant breakthrough, the police have apprehended two individuals in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Taklu Lohar, who was fatally shot on February 1 under the Sitaramdera area. The arrests have been identified as Saurabh Yadav (22) and Raghunath Manna (23), residents of Parsudih and Kadma, respectively. This development brings the total number of arrests in connection with the incident to four.

Upon arresting the duo, law enforcement officials successfully recovered the pistol used in the murder, along with ammunition and two mobile phones belonging to the suspects.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) Kishore Kaushal disclosed that Raghunath Manna played the role of the conspirator, while Saurabh Yadav was identified as the main shooter in the crime. Both suspects had initially fled the city after the gun-shot attack, only to be captured later at a location in Pardih Chowk along NH-33 on Tuesday evening.

Kaushal, in a press briefing on Wednesday afternoon, stated, “Both Saurabh and Raghunath had fled the city soon after launching the gun-shot attack. The duo had returned back and were eventually nabbed from a place in Pardih Chowk along the NH-33 on Tuesday evening.”

The senior SP highlighted that a dedicated team, established after Taklu Lohar’s murder, successfully apprehended two other individuals, Sujal Bahadur and Munna Adhikari, for their involvement in the case. At that time, the conspirator and the shooter were still at large.

Both Saurabh Yadav and Raghunath Manna, who already had criminal records, were produced before a judicial magistrate and subsequently sent to jail.

Taklu Lohar, with a history of dubious activities, suffered fatal injuries in a gunshot attack by bike-borne criminals at his motor garage on the evening of February 1. He was rushed to MGM Medical College Hospital and later transferred to Tata Main Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the same night. The arrests mark a significant advancement in the ongoing investigation into his murder.
