Brave woman foils purse snatching attempt in Jamshedpur, miscreants caught

Jamshedpur, Jan 30: A woman in Bistupur showed remarkable courage when she prevented a group of miscreants from snatching her purse on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred near the Lakshmi Temple under the Bistupur police station at approximately 6:45 pm. Pallavi Kumari, the woman in question, was walking towards the Mahakal Temple when three miscreants on a bike attempted to snatch her bag. Despite the forceful attempt, which caused her to fall, Pallavi held onto the purse tightly. The miscreants tried to drag her along, but her persistence caused one of them to fall off the bike. The crowd that gathered immediately after her shout managed to capture the fallen youth. The police soon arrived and took the arrested youth to the station for questioning. Pallavi suffered only minor injuries in the incident. She recalled, “I had gone to the Mahakal Temple for Mauni Amavasya. When I felt them pulling my bag, I held on tightly, not letting go. The fight caused the thief to fall off his bike.” The police are investigating the arrested youth for any connections to other criminal activities and are attempting to locate the remaining accomplices.

Meanwhile, the police in Bistupur have made further arrests in connection with a purse snatching incident that occurred on Wednesday evening. Two additional youths, who were involved in the snatching attempt near Lakshmi Temple, were captured following a raid.  The arrested youths are being interrogated, and the police are hopeful that these arrests will lead to uncovering the full extent of the snatching gang’s activities in the area.
