Jamshedpur, Jan 30: In an effort to tackle the rise in thefts across the city, Jamshedpur’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kishore Kaushal, has ordered the deployment of 10 additional bike patrols starting from Wednesday night. The patrols will work alongside the existing police stations, PCR vehicles, and Tiger Mobile units to ensure more comprehensive surveillance in various parts of the city. SSP Kaushal stressed that a key focus would be on flats, as recent thefts have primarily targeted such buildings. “All police station in-charges have been directed to conduct night patrols in their respective areas. We will ensure that flats are monitored closely, and suspicious activities are questioned,” he said. Additionally, Kaushal has instructed all in-charges to meet with residents of flats to assess their security arrangements, including CCTV setups and guard numbers. If necessary, the police will advise on improving security measures. Kaushal also requested residents to inform local police or guards whenever they leave their homes locked. This will help the police track any unusual activity during their patrols.
