Jamshedpur: Following the laughs, giggles and festivities in Vipul Goyal�s Comedy Show, and the open air screening of Andaz Apna Apna at the Movie Night, Day 1 of Ensemble-Valhalla�18 ended on a cheery high.
With a renewed fervour, Day 2 saw the commencement of the 3rd Edition of Future Leaders Program, a 2 day workshop designed to hone and nurture the leadership skills of High school students of Jamshedpur and Kolkata.
The FLP commenced with a career counselling and AMA session with Ira Singhal � The first physically challenged woman to top the IAS exams. With her disarming personality, she won the hearts of one and all. During the two hour interactive session she advised students over numerous career related topics, and gave students a fresh perspective on how to shape their lives.
�Stop lying to yourself, and you�ll be infinitely more sure about what you want�, she said, which was perhaps the most important takeaway for these young, fresh minds. Post the session, the students continued with the other varied workshops lined up for them through the day.
The cultural events began today in full swing, and the first half of the day saw Natyanjali (Solo Dance), and Tamasha (Stage Play) competitions being held. Students from various colleges like XUB, NIT-J, XIMB, IIFT-K etc put up wonderful performances, and the spirit of healthy competition and respect could be seen among the competing teams.
As the day progressed, the festivities heightened, with the commencement of the street play competition, �Lalkaar� The contingents presented their scripts with great enthusiasm, and the chants of �Aao Aao, Natak Dekho� could be heard all over the venue.
Things heated up on management front as well, with some flagship competitions nearing their finals, while numerous others beginning. Today was the second leg of the finals of The Next Gen Leader, and the final round of Helios (Operations Flagship).
Other events that began today were Strike or Yield (Industrial Relations flagship), and Strategikon (Consulting Flagship), which had participation from institutes like IIM Lucknow, IIM Ranchi, TISS, IIM Calcutta, SPJIMR, XIMB etc. With their challenging case studies and quizzes, these events tested the wits and spontaneity of the students, along with their management prowess.
Day 2 had the chill zone transformed as well, with activities like Zorbing and Paintball drawing students in large numbers. Combined with �Melting Pot�- the food street at EV, the entire Old Hostel area has a very fun and festive atmosphere.
On the sports front, the league rounds of various sports continued: Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis, Football etc. The XLRI contingent picked up where they left from, and their stellar performance continued on Day 2 as well.
As the evening falls, the excitement among students could be seen in anticipation of the performance by Bodhi Tree, XLRI famed student band. Tonight will also see the Poker Night being held, with the students testing their analytical and psychological skills at the table, making this a much awaited event for the batch
