Jamshedpur, Nov. 4: A 65-year-old man was injured as a criminal opened fire at a medical store owner at Azadnagar under Mango police station area, prompting to police to nab the culprit. The incident took place in front of Saheen Medicals on Road No 2 in Azadnagar.
The victim, Mohammed Sasim-ul Haque sustained gun-shot injury in his left leg after being shot at by the 26-year-old criminal Shibu Baccha.
A resident of Azadnagar, Baccha had already extorted Rs 5,000 from Haque a year ago, demanded Rs one lakh as `rangdari’. According to sources, Haque was standing in front of his medical store as his two son Banti was in the shop along with the staff. The family members rushed the victim to MGM Medical College Hospital emergency. The injured was latter shifted to Tata Main Hospital where he was operated upon.
Soon after getting the information Mango thana OC, Arun Kumar Mahatha had reached the spot and inspected the area. Mahatha confirmed about the incident and said that it was Shibu Baccha who had shot at the medical shop-owner for extortion money.
