Ranchi: Water Resources Minister Chandra Prakash Choudhary has directed that blueprint for small irrigation projects must be ready by April 20.
He ordered to stop projects including Jharjhara water reservoir project, Kansh Project, Kanti Project and Suali Project going on since the days of undivided Bihar with immediate effect. Choudhary was holding a review meeting with the department officials.
It came up during discussions that the four projects not longer remained profitable and people are angry about it. He asked the officials to draw out plans for small, mid-level and big irrigation projects for next three years.
He also issued directives to send reports of MOUs for repair, renovation and restoration of water reservoirs to the Union Government.
The Minister asked the officials to hold talks with Energy department for adequate supply of electricity to small irrigation projects running at Khunti and Ranchi.
