BJP activists protest before Bistupur PS

Jamshedpur, Jan. 18: BJP activists on Monday protested before the Bistupur police station against the procedures followed for arresting a party worker named Maruti Nandan Pandey.

According to a party worker, in December last, BJP Bistupur mandal worker Marutri Nandan Pandey had a fight with his neighbour Sonu Sharma during which Sharmas nose bone fractured and was being treated at MGM Hospital for which Pandey bore all the expenses. After Sonu Sharma recovered, he filed a case against Pandey naming him as the culprit. Later, the Bistupur police conducted raids to arrest the BJP worker, he added.

Another protestor said instead to taking one-sided action, the police ought to talk to both the parties and conduct a transparent investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, Jitendra Kumar, Bistupur Police in-charge, said police is doing its work transparently and would take action against the culprit.
