BIT Mesra Ranchi hosts conference on tourism growth

Ranchi, Mar 24: A two-day conference on responsible tourism was organized by the Department of Management, BIT Mesra, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Jharkhand on March 21-22, 2025.

Chief Guest Rajiv Kumar (Deputy Director, Jharkhand Tourism & Development Council) emphasized Jharkhand’s huge tourism potential and government initiatives for its growth.

International speaker Dr. Nodir Karimo (Tashkent State University, Uzbekistan) spoke on the importance of global tourism and cultural exchange.

“We need stronger collaboration between academia and the tourism industry,” said Dr. Raju Poddar (Dean, Research, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Cell, BIT Mesra).

The event featured deliberations on sustainable and regenerative tourism models by experts, policymakers and academicians.

The Conference Proceedings & Abstract Book was officially released and guests were honored with shawls and mementos.

The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Nishikant Kumar and Dr. Anand Kumar, marking it as a significant step towards sustainable tourism development in Jharkhand.
