Bharat Rang Mahotsava Ranchi: Bengali play wins applause

Ranchi: The Bengali play ‘Bhoot’ presented by Kolkata based theatre group Ushneek earned overwhelming applause from the viewers at the 25th Bharat Rang Mahotsava organized jointly National School of Drama and Union culture ministry in collaboration with state arts and culture department at Ranchi on Tuesday.

The play directed and written by Ishita Mukhopadhaya is about the stay in Darjeeling of a chartered accountant Diptash coming face to face with a strange eccentric ghost.

People appreciated the ghost’s conversations with Diptash in the play which is full of wits, arguments and confessions. The conversations gradually unveil stories of love, neglect, regret, hunger and war.

The Bharat Rang Mahotsava which will continue till February 6 will also have Hindi play Bilimaro directed by Milind Inamdar from Srujan Foundation, Mumbai, Malati Madhavam from National School of Drama, Varanasi and Nirman Se Nirvaan Tak, directed by Bipin Kumar from Bharatendu Natya Akademi, Lucknow.
