Banna Gupta inspects Jugsalai ROB, issues on spot instruction for early completion of project

Jamshedpur, Nov 11: Jharkhand health and disaster management minister and Jamshedpur West MLA Banna Gupta on Thursday  conducted a surprise inspection of Jugsalai Road overbridge (ROB) and reviewed the unfinished works.
The minister sought reasons for the incomplete works of the ROB from the private contractor Triveni Constructions owner Adarsh Dodrajka, Anand Dodrajka and their entire team. The contractor said that there are mainly three reasons for stopping the work. Firstly, only 38 houses out of the 52 houses which are to be shifted have been completed. Previously, these displaced persons had been brought by Tata Steel from the Chuna Bhatta area and settled in the area. Secondly, there is delay in the tender for the laying of electric wires and thirdly construction of drains along the approach road.

The minister spoke to the deputy commissioner East Singhbhum Suraj Kumar and asked the Sub-Divisional Officer Sandeep Kumar Meena and instructed him to get fifty-two houses ready immediately after talking to Tata Steel and Jusco. The revised estimate of these fifty-two houses is also ready, but the work should not stop waiting for it, the minister also directed that there should be no shortage in the quality and facilities of the houses. Complete arrangements should be made for toilets, drinking water etc. He directed the Sub-Divisional Officer to get the boring for water supply done by Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee without any delay and monitor the construction works.

Banna Gupta called the General Manager of Electricity Department Jamshedpur and instructed to shift the high tension wire coming under ROB’s area. The General Manager immediately sent Imran Murtaza, SDO of the Electricity Department, to the spot. The SDO told the minister that the approval of funds has not been received from the road construction department for shifting the high tension wire, that is why the work has not started. The Minister directed that the work should be started immediately, the work should not remain pending due to departmental problem of fund transactions.

For the tender of the drain, Banna Gupta talked to the secretary, road construction department, Sunil Kumar and asked him to get the estimates prepared for the drain, get the houses tendered and all the obstacles in the work of ROB, resolved.
Banna Gupta addressing the gathering said that the work of approach road would be started by the contractor within the next twenty four hours and hurdles coming in its way will be executed on a priority basis.
Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry vice-president public relations, Mukesh Mittal and other officials including chamber president Vijay Anand Moonka and others thanked the minister for taking prompt action on the issue which has been delayed since a long time.
