Ranchi, Dec 12: BJP state president Babulal Marandi has expressed grave concerns over the escalating crime rate in the Guddi area of West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. The region is currently witnessing intense conflicts between the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) and Maoist groups, primarily over illegal activities such as opium and cannabis cultivation, as well as sand mining.
Marandi highlighted that the situation has become increasingly alarming, with approximately 22 people reported missing and over 10 individuals killed. A recent murder of an Odisha resident has further heightened the tension in the region. The BJP leader shared on his social media platform X that a horrifying video of the murder was too graphic to be shared publicly, but offered to provide the footage to the authorities for investigation.
According to Marandi, villagers have declared that any outsider seen with a phone or vehicle will be killed, further escalating the law and order crisis. He called for immediate intervention by the state government and administration to address the situation. Marandi stressed the need for peace-building efforts and urged that the government take swift action to ensure justice for the victims and safety for the local community.
He appealed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Jharkhand Police to take decisive action to restore peace in the area and punish the perpetrators.
