Ranchi, Jan 4: Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s motorcade was attacked at Ranchi’s Kishorganj Chowk on Monday evening. The act has come under scathing attack by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
JMM spokesman Supriyo Bhattacharya said the attack on Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s motorcade was an act of cowardice. “The attack cannot be dismissed or overlooked like a minor incident. Instead, it is a matter of great concern because the attempt clearly denotes the handiwork of rowdy elements out to disrupt the law and order of the state and dilute prevailing peace,” said Supriyo Bhattacharya and added, “this was a preplanned ploy to fan communal flare up in the capital city and nearby areas.”
Reiterating that the attack was an act of cowardice, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the police are on the hunt to find out the people behind this conspiracy. He stated that those responsible for the attack with be dealt with firmly by the police and the government.
The JMM spokesman averred, “In a democracy one is free to express or protest but taking law into one’s own hand and that too in the heart of the city is definitely wrong, illegal. This conspiracy against the government will be firmly dealt with by the police.” It may be mentioned that Ormanjhi in Ranchi had been witness to the rape and murder of a girl that had enraged the people some of whom allegedly attacked the Chief Minister’s motorcade on Monday evening.
