Chaibasa, Dec 26: A joint operation by Chaibasa Puluira, Cobra 209 BN, 203 BN, Jharkhand Jaguar, and multiple CRPF units has been launched to counter the subversive activities of top leaders of the banned CPI (Maoist), including Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochu, Anal, Asim Mandal, Chaman, Ajay Mahato, Sagen Angaria, and Ashwin, along with their squad members in the Saranda/Kolhan area. These leaders have been involved in various illegal activities in the region.
On December 24, 2024, information was received about the movement of these Maoist leaders in the Saranda area, which prompted a joint operation in the hilly and forested areas of Chhotanagra and Jaraikela police stations.
During the ongoing search operation on December 25, 2024, security forces successfully recovered and destroyed a 5 kg IED planted earlier by the Naxalites with the intention of targeting security forces. The device was found between Marangponga and Dalaigara on the Chhotanagra-Jaraikela border. A bomb disposal squad was deployed to safely neutralize the device.
The anti-Naxal operation continues, with authorities remaining vigilant to secure the area and prevent further attacks.
