Jamshedpur, Jan 19: After a hiatus of two years due to Covid-19 the grand Tusu fair will be organised at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur on January 21, said Jharkhandvasi Ekta Manch (JEM) convener cum Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto and Chief Convener of the organization Astik Mahto.
Addressing a press meet at a restaurant in Sonari on Thursday, Astik and Bidyut informed that huge gathering is expected at the venue as the most sought after fair is being organised after two years.
Bidyut Baran Mahto announced that as during the preceding years, on this occasion too prizes would be given to 11 winners in different events at the Mela.
Prizes will be awarded in categories including Tusu, Chadel and ‘Budhi Gari Nach.’
The idols are judged by a panel of jury members and awards were given away. Folk dances matching the beats of ‘nagaras’ is also a major attraction for visitors, who come from all communities.
They informed that a certain amount of cash would be set aside as consolation prizes will be given to all those who bring Goddess Tusu and Chadal to the fair.
Teams for handling different responsibilities for the smooth functioning of the Grand Tusu Fair have been formed.
One such team constituted was for judging and selecting winning teams. JEM urged all citizens to participate in the Fair so that Jharkhand Unity was amply reflected.
