Jamshedpur, May 9: The Tata Steel Sports Division is all set to organise Summer Camp 2023 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex from May 12-30, 2023. Renowned athlete, Anju Bobby George would be the Chief Guest during the Opening Ceremony of Summer Camp on May 12 (7 AM) at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. George is recipient of Arjuna Award in 2002, Khel Ratna in 2003 and Padma Shri in 2004 for her outstanding achievements in field of athletics.
She made history by winning Bronze Medal in long jump at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics in Paris. She became the first Indian athlete ever to win a medal in a World Championships in Athletics jumping 6.70 metres (22.0 ft).
Till now, Tata Steel Sports Department has received 2000 entries for the camp. This is the last opportunity for the children to register for the camp as seats are filling fast. Registration are open at JRD Tata Sports Complex along with online registration at https://forms.office.com/r/KLSzFgAxHS.
22-disiplinary summer camp will offer a host of sports training ranging from Swimming to Horse Riding to Cricket to Hockey to roller-skating and others.
Children in the age group of 6 years to 19 years can participate in Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Basketball, Chess, Cricket, Golf, Handball, Horse Riding, Karate, Kabaddi, Roller Skate/Roll Ball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, football, Zumba, Yoga, hockey (at Naval Tata Hockey Academy) and Volleyball.
The fee for enrolment in different sporting camps will vary from Rs 300 to Rs 1500.
