Ranchi: As per directives of Congress President Sonia Gandhi senior party leader Alamgir Alam has been made party�s leader of the opposition in Jharkhand assembly.
A directive to the effect was issued at Congress headquarters in New Delhi. Alam was earlier nominated speaker of the assembly.
He won the Pakur seat for the third consecutive time. Party office-bearers congratulated Alam for his appointment as the leader of the opposition.
