Jamshedpur: Hitting out at BJP the Rajya Sabha MP Pradip Kumar Balmuchu said that the Union Government is robbing the poor.

He said that the BJP had asked for votes on the promise of ‘good days’, but after coming to power the BJP has left the poor in the lurch.

Putting allegation of high-handedness on Modi-led government Balmuchu said that no bill was passed on the floor of the house in last parliamentary session while an anti-people ordinance has been issued.

Balmuchu said that when BJP was out of power it had protested the bill for foreign direct investment. But today the same party is advocating for a cent percent FDI in the market. The Congress had advocated for 50 percent cap on FDI which is enough for country’s growth, he said.

The Rajyasabha MP further said that after assuming power the BJP increased rail fare. Now that fuel prices have largely reduced the government must reduce rail fare and give relief to the poor railway passengers.

Alleging corruption in high offices Balmuchu said that the Centre has transferred in the investigator of the Majithia case to Kolkata. Balmuchu added that the fuel price cut has been a mere eye-wash.

Considering drastic reduction in fuel price worldwide the government must reduce fuel price by half, he commented.

Commenting on Raghubar Das led government Balmuchu said that the delay in expansion of state cabinet reflect inner-party disputes.

The Congress would meet the Governor very soon on the issue. On new chief secretary Balmuchu said that Rajuv Gauba does not have any knowledge of Jharkhand. By the time the new chief secretary comes to know about the state of affairs in Jharkhand five years would pass, he commented.

Balmuchu regretted that his body guards have been withdrawn by the new state dispensation. “The State government would be held responsible if something untoward happens to me,” he said.
