Jamshedpur, October 3: Police have arrested Agni Pathak, the prime accused in the shooting of Mahesh Mishra in JEMCO Mishra Garden, Telco, along with his associate Sonu, from Siwan. The weapon used in the crime was recovered based on information provided by Agni Pathak. Both suspects were brought to Jamshedpur on Wednesday night after being presented in court and placed under transit remand.
The investigation revealed that Agni Pathak and his associates fired on Mahesh Mishra under the instructions of Prakash Mishra, who is currently in custody. A diary and mobile phone found during a raid in the prisoner ward of Prakash Mishra at Rinpas, Ranchi, provided crucial leads. Raju Yadav, another accused in the case, had already been jailed after being found with a country-made pistol and live ammunition.
The shooting incident took place on August 16, where bike-borne assailants opened fire, injuring Mahesh Mishra’s friend, Suraj Yadav. Following the incident, an FIR was filed against Agni Pathak, Raju Yadav, and others. Further investigation is underway.
