Agitating workers manhandle Tata Workers Union president

Jamshedpur: Situation turned tense outside Tata Workers Union office in Bistupur on Monday when the agitating members of Tisco Nibandhit Shramik Sangh turned violent during their hunger strike.

The agitators allegedly manhandled Tata Workers Union president R Ravi Prasad and put the union office gate under lock and key. They did not allow the union office-bearers to enter the TWU office.

Sangh member Mohan Pandey said the agitating workers were dismayed by the lack of interest shown by the company management and TWU officials. He said the workers were agitated as the TWU president had not taken any decision regarding their employment. He said the union president should take the issues raised by the workers seriously or else they would be compelled to take extreme steps.

The agitators included Anjan Kumar Ghosh, Vijay Dubey, Sanjeet Tiwary, Anil Mishra, Sanjay Gupta, Deepesh Sah, Saoj, Rajesh Prasad, Arvind, Jeetu Singh, RK Sinha, Debashish Sarkar, Neetu Kumari, Laxmi Singh, Shailo Bai, Arpita Singh, Deepak Kumar Kaushik and Aarti Kumari.
