Food adulteration menace at high in Jamshedpur, tests reports released 

Jamshedpur: In a recent investigation conducted by the District Administration, it has been found that several hotels and shops were involved in food adulteration. The administration collected multiple samples from various outlets and sent them for testing. The results revealed that many of the samples were adulterated, posing a severe health risk to the public.

The samples were collected from different areas of the city, including popular food joints and markets. The investigation was launched after multiple complaints were received about the quality of food being served at various outlets. The administration took swift action and collected samples from the suspected outlets.

According to the direction of Designated Officer-cum-Sub-Divisional Officer, Dhalbhum Piyush Sinha, adulteration has been confirmed in the food samples of some businessmen in the investigation campaign on food items. Enforcement sample of Masala  from Rahul Sau’s Masala Factory, Paneer from M/s Dugout Sakchi, Paneer of M/s Ganga Regency New Baradwari, Ghee sample from M/s Surendra Kevat, Food Park, Mango Golchakkar were sent to Ranchi for laser examination.

In the inspection report received from the State Food Testing Laboratory, Namkum, dated May 4, in the Masala Factory of Rahul Sau, rice starch in manufacturing turmeric powder, unpermitted colour in Mix Masala Powder, Mix Masala Substandard, Rice Husk, Adulterant for Turmeric and Unpermitted Metanil yellow color has been found in Masala Factory. Along with this, Ghee of M/s Surendra Kevat, Golachkar Sakchi was found to be substandard and unsafe. The sample of paneer of M/s Ganga Regency, New Baradwari, Sakchi has been found to be substandard.

Paneer sample of M/s Dugout, Sakchi was found to be fine. According to the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, legal action will be taken against all the food businessmen involved in adulteration.

The results of the testing were alarming, as many samples were found to contain harmful substances and chemicals. The administration immediately issued notices to the owners of the outlets and ordered them to stop selling the adulterated products. They were given strict instructions to maintain the quality and purity of the food they serve.

The administration has also initiated legal action against the owners of the outlets found guilty of food adulteration. They have been charged under the relevant laws and will face strict punishment. The administration has urged the public to be cautious while purchasing food products and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

The incident highlights the need for strict monitoring and regulation of the food industry to ensure the safety and health of the public. The administration has assured that it will continue to conduct regular checks and take strict action against those found guilty of food adulteration.
