Administration should solve the Sakchi Kabristan issue permanently: Gunjan Yadav

Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP president Gunjan Yadav Monday said the BJYM activists had been raising the issue of proximity of Sakchi Kabristan with the Graduate School College for Women for the last two years. But despite repeated reminders, the district administration has failed to take any action against those responsible for the illegal construction, he said.

Yadav expressed concern over the Kabristan affecting the academic environment of the college. “Our sisters and daughters studying in the college may become victims of love jihad in the future as anti-social elements gather around the Kabristan. We will have to think about the future of our sisters and daughters today. We will not tolerate this situation anymore. District administration should provide a permanent solution to this problem,” he said.

Yadav said the DC had patiently heard the BJYM delegation’s concerns and assured to take positive steps regarding their demands. He said the DC had assured to order maintenance of status quo at the Kabristan.

Commercial construction in Kabristan is illegal: BJYM president

Jamshedpur, Oct 17: BJYM Jamshedpur Mahanagar president Amit Agrawal said construction of a multi-storied building at the Kabristan and converting the same to commercial use was misuse of the land allotted for a different purpose altogether. He said construction inside the Kabristan began soon after shifting of Graduate School College for Women. A gate was opened just before the college and now a multi-storied building is being built for opening madarasa and coaching institute inside the Kabristan which is illegal and an attempt to disrupt communal harmony, said Agrawal.

BJYM activists refuse to buzz

Jamshedpur, Oct 17: BJYM activists sat on dharna before the Jamshedpur Collectorate on Monday to protest the ongoing construction at Sakchi Kabristan. Situation became tense when police tried to remove the protestors by using slight force. The protestors did not buzz and they also tried to enter the Collectorate premises. They demanded administrative intervention to stop the construction and ban it permanently.
