Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum District Chess Association organized district-level chess competition at JRD Tata Sports Complex to select players for the Jharkhand State Championship in Hazaribagh, scheduled from March 21 to 30.
In the Under-15 Boys category, Adhiraj Mitra emerged as the champion, followed by Nikunj Agarwal in second place, Mayan Jha in third, Devanjan Sinha in fourth, and Swastik Banerjee in fifth. In the Under-15 Girls category, Navika Jaiswal secured the top position, with Nitya Bharti second, Aditi Kashyap third, Anishka fourth, and Vidyushi Munshi fifth.

In the Under-9 Girls category, Naira Aditya won first place, followed by T. Niharika, Zaira Ahmed, Divyana Agarwal, and Vanya. In the Under-9 Boys category, Rudranil Rai clinched the title, with Vivan Basak, Ryan Rohal Gollapalli, Shreyansh Agarwal, and Arnav securing the next positions.
The selected players will now represent the district at the state championship.
