MLA Saryu Roy meets Tata Steel UISL management
Improved water supply and electricity soon
Jamshedpur, June 13: In a proactive move towards enhancing Jamshedpur’s infrastructure, MLA Saryu Roy convened a meeting with Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL), formerly known as JUSCO. Held at the Jusco General Manager’s office, the meeting saw intensive discussions on vital civic projects encompassing road construction, drainage system improvement, water supply augmentation, and electricity provision to settlements.
Key outcomes of the meeting included:
Citywide Cleanliness Initiative: MLA Saryu Roy proposed entrusting Tata Steel UISL with the city’s cleanliness mandate, a proposition promptly accepted by the General Manager, marking a significant stride towards a cleaner Jamshedpur.
Water Connection Expansion: Plans were formulated to distribute drinking water connection forms in various localities, ensuring equitable access to essential services. During the meeting, it was decided that forms for drinking water connections would be distributed in Bhuiyadih and Nandnagar areas in July, and in Lalbhatta and Babudih from the last week of July. Additionally, forms for water connections will be distributed in Jojobeda Basti, Neelkanth Apartment, and other apartments starting from July 15.The meeting also concluded that residents of Mahanand Basti, Manifit, and surrounding areas would soon be able to access drinking water connections, with Jusco ready to supply the water.
Electrification Efforts: Progress updates were shared on substation construction and cable laying initiatives, aimed at improving electricity accessibility in designated areas. The talks revealed that the construction of a sub-station near the de-addiction center in Bagunhatu has commenced and is expected to be completed within two months. Following this, network laying in the settlements and house connections will begin.
In other areas, work has started on laying cables to provide electricity in Moharda, Murakati, and Aastha. A site near Telco Sewage Plant, close to Ramni Kali Temple, has been selected for a substation construction for the Moharda area, pending a No Objection Certificate from Tata Motors.
Infrastructure Enhancement: A consensus was reached on the renovation, paving, and cleaning of major drains, as well as the construction of roads and drains in key garden areas. The meeting reached a consensus on the renovation, paving, and cleaning of major drains in the area and those extending from settlements. It was decided that roads and drains would be constructed in Manifit, Burmamines, Sidhgora, Shiv Singh Garden, Kashidih, and Sakchi garden areas.
Green Space Development: Agreement was reached to establish a park near the Golmuri Vijaynagar temple, enhancing recreational amenities within the city.
Future Projects: Saryu Roy proposed a new pipeline project for supplying pure drinking water to Jamshedpur, which received positive assurance from the General Manager.
