70 Christians from Jamshedpur to go on pilgrimage to Goa

Jamshedpur, Sept 21: In a gesture of goodwill and inclusivity, Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation Limited (JTDCL) has announced plans to send 70 Christians from East Singhbhum district on a pilgrimage to Goa. This spiritual journey is scheduled to take place in the first week of October, promising a meaningful and enriching experience for the participants.

To be eligible for this pilgrimage, participants must meet specific criteria. Pilgrims must be aged 60 or above and permanent residents of Jharkhand state. Additionally, they should fall under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, indicating that they are not tax-paying individuals. Importantly, participants should not have previously benefited from similar pilgrimage schemes.

To apply for the Poor Senior Citizen Teerth Darshan Scheme, interested individuals should complete the application form in duplicate. They must attach the original medical certificate, along with a “Fit for Travel Certificate.” These documents should then be submitted at the nearest Block Office and District Sports Office, East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur, no later than the prescribed deadline of September 25, 2023.

The selection of pilgrims will be meticulously managed by the District Level Management Committee. Priority will be given to those who apply first. In the event that the number of pilgrims exceeds the allotted quota, a waiting list comprising 10% of the prescribed quota will also be prepared to accommodate additional participants.
