PM Modi to flag off Jharkhand’s second Vande Bharat express on Sept 24
Jamshedpur, Sept 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to flag off nine Vande Bharat express train on Sunday i.e. on 24 September.
Among these nine trains, the Indian Railways is set to launch the much awaited Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat express via Tatanagar.
Meanwhile, Vande Bharat made a trial run on the Ranchi-Howrah route on Thursday. The journey included a halt at Tatanagar station at 4:35 pm, eliciting a tremendous surge of enthusiasm among the local populace.
People at Tatanagar station captured the moment by taking selfies with the iconic train.
Heavy showers failed to dampen the fervour among people who turned up to catch a sight of the Vande Bharat Express train at Tatanagar on Thursday during its inaugural trail run from Ranchi to Howarh.
Following its arrival at Tatanagar station loco pilots exchanged duties.
A seven-minute halt allowed passengers to witness this technological marvel up close before it resumed its journey towards Howrah.
According to tentative schedule, Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will leave Ranchi at 5:15 am, the train will arrive at Tatanagar station at 8:40 am.
The locomotive will leave Tatanagar at 8:45 am and reach Howrah around 12:20 pm. The return journey will begin at 3:45 pm with the train arriving at Tatanagar 7:05 pm. Vande Bharat will reach Ranchi at 10:50 pm.
The total duration of the journey between Ranchi and Howrah will be 7 hours and 5 minutes and will run on all days except Wednesday.
Although specific information regarding the fare has not been disclosed yet, it is estimated to be around Rs 1100 from Ranchi to Howarh and approximately Rs 600 to Rs 700 from Tatanagar.
According to reports, the locomotive will be operated at an average speed of 65 km.
The train will traverse through stations- Muri, Purulia, Tatanagar, Tatanagar, and Kharagpur before reaching Howrah.
Earlier, the Prime Minister had flagged off Jharkhand’s first Vande Bharat Express from Ranchi to Patna in virtual mode in June this year.
Vande Bharat Express is an indigenously manufactured, semi-high-speed, self-propelled train set. The train has state-of-the-art passenger amenities, providing passengers with a faster, more comfortable and more convenient travel experience.
