Jamshedpur, September 27 : To mark World Rabies Day, Tata Steel UISL, in collaboration with NGO Dost, organised a free rabies vaccination camp at the Veterinary Hospital, Sakchi, aimed at promoting animal welfare and preventing the spread of rabies. A total of 69 dogs and 18 cats were vaccinated during the camp.
The camp witnessed active participation from pet owners, who availed free vaccinations for their pets and received expert guidance on the importance of annual immunisation. Stray dogs were also vaccinated under the initiative — an important step towards reducing rabies transmission in the community.

As part of the observance, a Rabies Awareness Rally was also organised from TMH, Bistupur to the Veterinary Hospital, Sakchi. Citizens and volunteers joined the rally to spread the message of rabies prevention and responsible animal care.
So far, Tata Steel UISL has conducted more than 80 Rabies awareness sessions across 77 schools and academic institutions, benefiting over 23,000 students. These initiatives are helping instill knowledge about rabies prevention among children, families, and the wider community.
By organising these activities on World Rabies Day, Tata Steel UISL reaffirmed its commitment to public health, community well-being, and humane animal care.
