64th Tusu fair and sports competition enthral Inchada Village

Jaduguda: The vibrant tradition of Tusu fair and sports competition continued its legacy as the 64th edition unfolded in the picturesque Inchada village of Jaduguda. Dozens of exquisitely crafted Tusu idols graced the fair, where the top honor went to the Tusu statue from Kokada village, earning a coveted first prize of Rs. 4,000 for its exceptional artistry. Jodsa (Galudih) claimed the second prize of Rs. 3,000, while the third prize of Rs. 2,000 was bestowed upon Saspur village for their outstanding Tusu replicas.

The festivities extended beyond the creative Tusu displays, with a spirited sports competition adding excitement to the event. Participants showcased their athletic prowess, and deserving winners were recognized and felicitated for their achievements. Speaking at the function, the area’s head, Manjeet Singh, emphasized the positive impact of sports on children, citing its role in promoting mental development and fostering mutual brotherhood.

Deputy Head Rupak Mandal reiterated the commitment to preserving Jharkhand’s rich culture through the annual Tusu Fair, ensuring its continuation in the future. The event also featured the joyous spectacle of masquerade performances and cultural dances, adding a lively and colorful dimension to the Tusu Fair.

The success of the program was attributed to the concerted efforts of key contributors, including Village Head Manjeet Singh, Deputy Head Rupak Mandal, Manoj Mandal, Sabendu Mandal, Subhash Singh Nagendra Singh Ramesh Mandal, Samesh Mandal, and Tulsi Bhakt, whose dedicated involvement made the event a memorable celebration of tradition and community spirit.
