42 kg Ganja seized in Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, 3 arrested

Dhanbad,  Aug 6: Joint team of  Railway Protection Force (RPF),  Government  Rail Police (GRP) and Crime Intelligence Branch ( CIB) seized 42 kg of Ganja from  12301 Howrah- New Delhi Rajdhani Express at Dhanbad railway station on Tuesday evening.

 The team also arrested three couriers ( passengers) in this regard.

 RPF Inspector Ajay Prakash told media persons that  three passengers travelling in 2nd AC coach were going to Prayagraj from Howrah carrying 42 kg  Ganja in three trolley bags.  Each trolley bag  was contained  with  14 packets of Ganja.

 As  Howrah- New Delhi Rajdhani Express reached platform no 3 at Dhanbad railway station at 8.5 pm of Tuesday ,joint team of RPF, GRP and CIB  conducted search in  2nd AC coach and  arrested  all trio with their trolley bags.

All trio arrested persons belong to  different districts of Bihar. They were identified as Sourabh Kumar  (18) of Nalanda , Akhlesh Mohan (24) and Ranjit Kumar ( 21) of Siwan district.

 The joint  team also seized mobiles and Rs 21,00 cash from their possession. FIR has been lodged in GRP station against them.

 The arrested youth disclosed that Sanjay, a resident of Angul district of Odisha had given them  three trolley bags to deliver to a person named Rajkumar at  Prayagraj Station.

 CIB inspector Arvind Kumar Ram, GRP sub inspector Nandlal Ram were leading the search operation.
