Jamshedpur: The much-awaited 39th Jamshedpur Book Fair, organized by the Tagore Society, Jamshedpur, will be held from November 14 to 23, 2025, at the Rabindra Bhavan campus in Sakchi. The event, a yearly celebration for students, writers, poets, and book lovers, promises a vibrant literary experience for all.
The inaugural ceremony will take place on November 14 at 6:30 p.m., with Prof. (Dr.) Gautam Sutradhar, Director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), as the Chief Guest and Dr. Amit Kumar Srivastava, Director and Controller of Arka Jain University, as the Special Guest. The event will be jointly inaugurated by officials of the Tagore Society.
The Book Fair will remain open daily from 2:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., while on Saturdays and Sundays, it will open earlier, from 10:00 a.m. Entry tickets are priced at Rs 10, while students can enter free of charge.
This year’s edition will feature 67 publishers, including 11 from Jamshedpur, showcasing books in Hindi, Bengali, English, Urdu, Santali, Ho, and Kurmali. Publications from Delhi, Kolkata, Patna, Mumbai, Ranchi, Giridih, and Jhargram will also participate, offering a wide array of books for readers of all ages.
Addressing a press conference at the Tagore Society campus, General Secretary Ashis Chowdhury described the fair as “an annual gift from the Tagore Society to the people of Jamshedpur, celebrating diversity beyond caste, religion, and language.” He added that renowned publishers and distributors from across India and abroad will participate, providing the city’s readers with access to quality literature.
Also present at the press meet were Tagore Society President Dr. H.S. Paul, Assistant General Secretary Sudip Basu, Book Fair Committee Chairman Shantanu Chakraborty and Tagore School of Arts in-charge Jaydeb Ghosh.
The 39th Jamshedpur Book Fair is expected to draw thousands of visitors, reinforcing the city’s reputation as a hub of literature, art, and culture.
