Gulmohur High School students trained to champion cancer awareness

Jamshedpur, Nov 13: The Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur East organized an awareness session on breast and cervical cancer for students of Gulmohur High School, Telco Colony, with the aim of creating a cancer-free and healthy society. The initiative sought to empower students as “Master Trainers” to spread awareness within their families and communities.

Dr. Arunima Verma, Senior Surgeon and Consultant at Tata Motors Hospital, conducted a session on breast cancer, discussing symptoms, prevention, and the importance of early detection. Dr. Shipra Sarkar, Senior Gynaecologist and Consultant, spoke about cervical cancer, emphasizing regular screening, healthy lifestyle practices, and vaccination as preventive measures. Dr. Padmaja was also present during the event.

The program was organized by Principal Priti Sinha and coordinated by Dr. Meena Mukherjee, President of Inner Wheel Club Jamshedpur East. Club members including Madhumita Sanyal, Sanchita Dey, Anju, Manjari, Priti Sinha, and Vinita attended the session.
