32 students of Jamshedpur Women’s University to get gold medals

Preparations in place for Feb 4 convocation

Governor to inaugurate girls’ hostel, senate hall

Jamshedpur, Jan 31: The second convocation ceremony of Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) will be held on February 4. Preparations for the event are being finalized.  The chief guest of the function will be Jharkhand Governor cum Chancellor of Universities of Jharkhand Santosh Kumar Gangwar.

The ceremony at University’s Sidhgora campus will see students from undergraduate, postgraduate, PG vocational, B.Ed., and M.Ed. programs being awarded degrees, with 32 topper students receiving gold medals in various subjects, said Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta.

Addressing a press meet at the university’s Sidhgora campus on Friday, Vice Chancellor stated that the registration process for the convocation concluded on January 25, and a total of 32 gold medalists will receive accolades for their academic excellence. The prestigious ‘Overall Best Graduate’ title will be awarded to Muskan Mahato from the Mathematics Department.

Governor is also scheduled to inaugurate girls’ hostel and senate hall in the campus.

Gold medalists (Undergraduate 2021-24 Batch) include-Faculty of Humanities: Varsha Prajapati (Hindi), Faculty of Social Sciences: Arpita Dutta (History), Faculty of Science: Muskan Mahato (Mathematics), Faculty of Commerce: Preeti Kumari (Accounts) and Faculty of Business: Riya Kumari Singh (Computer Application).

Gold Medalists (Postgraduate, PG Vocational, B.Ed., and M.Ed. 2022-24 Batch) are-Humanities & Social Sciences: Gauri Satpati (Bengali), Shaumini Das (Economics), Riya Singh (English), Neha Kumari (Hindi), Binita Kumari (History), Preeti Kumari (Home Science), Satabdi Chatterjee (Music), Anshika Kumari (Philosophy), Pamika Jha (Political Science), Anjali Kumari (Psychology), Seema Mahato (Sanskrit), Draksha Ruma (Urdu), Mili Sanyasi (Yoga). Science & Commerce: Anshu Verma (Commerce), Sabiha Zarin Khanam (Biotech), Missy Salba Bobonga (Botany), Sujata Laxmi Singh (Chemistry), Amisha Priya (Mathematics), Annusree Prasad (Physics), Srishti Lal (Zoology). Professional Courses: Nisha Kumari (MBA), Rajni Kumari (M.L.I.Sc.), Milan Joshi (M.Ed.), Anshu Kumari (M.C.A.), Priyanka Bhakat (B.Ed.).

Established in 1953, the institution has produced many distinguished personalities, and the management is preparing with full enthusiasm, hoping that the honored students will bring glory to the university and the nation.
