Jamshedpur, October 6: With the festive season knocking on the door, the Excise Department, under the directive of the District Deputy Commissioner, Ananya Mittal, has intensified its crackdown on illegal liquor production and sales. During a raid at Beradhipa under Bagbera police station, an illegal liquor storage facility was uncovered.
The search led to the seizure of 310.17 liters of various IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor) brands, including McDowell No. 1, Royal Stag, Imperial Gold, UK No. 1, Night Queen, Black Tiger, and Kings Gold, all of which are banned for sale in Jharkhand.
A case has been filed under the Excise Act against the businessman named Pintu, who was linked to the illegal storage, and efforts are underway to arrest the main accused. Investigations continue as intelligence reports are being gathered to track further leads.
