Jamshedpur: A total of 300 polling teams will be deployed across the Ghatshila Assembly constituency. Out of these, 262 polling teams will proceed directly to their respective polling stations, while the remaining 38 teams will first report to designated cluster points before moving to their booths. The arrangement has been made to streamline the movement of polling personnel, especially in remote or sensitive areas, ensuring efficient deployment and timely commencement of polling activities.
As part of the final preparations for the Ghatshila Assembly By-Election 2025, a detailed review meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi at the Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur. The meeting focused on the dispatch plan, logistical readiness, and coordination among departments to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the polling scheduled for November 11, 2025.
The meeting witnessed detailed deliberations on dispatch-related preparations, covering every key operational aspect — from the distribution of polling materials to the final randomization of polling personnel and micro-observers. Officials reviewed the movement plan for polling staff and police forces, ensuring that every polling station is adequately manned and secured.
District Election Officer Satyarthi emphasized that the dispatch process is one of the most critical stages of the electoral operation, as it sets the foundation for free, fair, and peaceful polling. He directed all concerned officers to maintain clear communication, strict adherence to timelines, and proper documentation at every level.
Detailed instructions were given regarding the arrangements for food and accommodation for polling teams, both at cluster centers and polling stations, to ensure their comfort and efficiency during duty. The availability of vehicles according to the pre-approved route chart was also thoroughly reviewed. The DEO directed the transport cell to ensure that all vehicles are inspected, tagged, and ready for deployment well before the dispatch schedule begins.
Discussions also focused on the safe transportation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units to the receiving centers after the completion of polling. Officers were instructed to follow the standard operating procedures of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and maintain real-time monitoring through GPS-enabled tracking and control rooms.
The communication plan was reviewed in detail to ensure uninterrupted coordination between sector magistrates, police teams, and control rooms on polling day. Emphasis was laid on ensuring that all polling stations, especially those in rural and remote areas, have reliable connectivity and contingency arrangements in case of emergencies.
The District Election Officer reiterated that the credibility of the election process depends on the collective efficiency of the polling personnel and the precision of logistical management. He called upon all nodal officers to take personal responsibility for their respective domains, ensuring zero lapses in the dispatch and return processes.
Senior officials from the district administration, police department, and election office participated in the meeting. Representatives from the transport, communication, and material management cells also briefed the DEO on the progress of preparatory work. The meeting concluded with clear directives to finalize all pending tasks within the stipulated timeline and to maintain readiness for the final dispatch process beginning shortly before polling day.
