Chaibasa, Jan. 28: A farmers seminar and training camp was organized at Kursi Panachayat Bhavan under Sadar Block on Saturday.
Kursi mukhiya, Niresh Deogam chaired the camp. Director of Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Chaibasa, Dr Pankaj Singh, district Soil conservator officer Rajendra Kishore and Kamal Kumar Singh imparted training to the farmers of Kursi Panchayat.
Significantly, BJP state spoke person J B Tubid recently appealed to make kursi panchayat the green panchayat of West Singhbhum.
As part of the greenery movement the training of farmers was organized. While explaining , ATMA director said, Kursi Panchayat has enormous potentialities to be the developed as the best green panchayat of West Singhbhum.
The farmers are eager to work in farm and water level is high and its twenty feet deep.
Director added that farmers must pay attention to soil testing of the farming land as it helps the farmer study the quality and deficit of the soil.
For that Mirdha Card is essential to be acquired by farmers . Seed treatment is also necessary before sowing them in the field and country seed can be used for three times whereas high breed seed has to be changed every year .
He further explained organic manure like cow dung be preferred in place of chemical fertilizer. He also added that agriculture machines are provided at subsidy rate to farmers . District soil conservator said that the farming must be adapted to the rapid changing climatic condition and use good quality of seed and technology to achieve high production. He suggested the farmers that watering is to be maintained according to the age of the crop.
He also added that Dhoba , pond and revamp of pond and percolating tank can be availed till the month of march and application can be submitted within three or four days as it takes time to complete the government procedure and also asked the farmers to constitute seed village.
Kamal Kumar Singh said that papaya, lemon and Guava are cash crops and farmers must cultivate them . The officer assured the farmers to assist them to ensure the panchayat get the greenery tag as early as possible and training of farmers would also be imparted in routine. Around three hundred farmers took part in the training camp .
