Ranchi: Justice Rajesh Kumar of the Jharkhand High Court raised concerns during the hearing of an anticipatory bail petition related to the embezzlement of paddy purchased in Pachamba Packs of Giridih. The court sought clarification from the Director-General of Police (DGP) on how it is feasible for accused individuals to provide 100% confessional statements in most cases at police stations. The court emphasized the importance of collecting evidence meticulously to substantiate allegations during trials and urged authorities to focus on conducting thorough investigations post-FIR registration.
Advocates Mukesh Kumar Sinha, Ankit Apoorva, Govind Raikaran, and Devarshi Mandal presented arguments on behalf of the applicant during the hearing. The court stressed the need for proper investigation after the registration of FIRs and recommended regular training for investigators to enhance their proficiency in conducting thorough research. Justice Rajesh Kumar emphasized that the state government should prioritize these aspects to ensure effective law enforcement.
After hearing the arguments from both the applicant and the state government, the court granted anticipatory bail to the applicants, PACS Manager Santosh Yadav and Mohd. Nisar Alam, with certain conditions.
