Jamshedpur, Sept 9: A voluntary blood donation was organized at Kerala Public School in Mango on Friday, September 9 where 152 units were collected. The camp was organized to mark the sixth death anniversary of the erstwhile Chairman, Late APR Nair. The camp was inaugurated by Director of the Managing Committee Board, Sharat Chandran. A prayer song eas rendered during the inaugural.
Principal of the school, Rupa Ghosh, in her inaugural address mentioned, “Blood makes up seven percent of our body weight. Blood donation is a gift of life. There is no substitute for human blood as this is not manufactured in industries but in our bodies alone. Someone, somewhere requires blood every two seconds. I request all to take advantage of blood donation camps as donating blood is a yeoman service to mankind.”
In his speech, Sharat Chandran spelt out the 10 M’s of motivators for blood donors. He said that the 10 M’s were, “Mothers, Masters, Managers, Medical Officers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Mukhiyas, Movement and Media.”
The Voluntary Blood Donors’ Association members participated in the camp to collect blood. Vice Principal Usha Rajshekharan and Headmistress Abha Vishwakarma along with the organizing team for the voluntary blood donation camp included faculty members Dolly Chatterjee, Sachin Sharma, Sushmita Sikdar, Mousumi Roy and Sonal Sur.
