Shani Mahotsava celebrations start at Pandara today

Ranchi, on 21st August. A special puja of Lord Shani will be organized on the occasion of Bhado Amavasya. A black flag will be hoisted to pay obeisance to the deity.

The temple will be specially decorated for the festival with flowers and leaves. A large number of devotees are expected to participate in the event.

The temple priest said as per tradition the devotees perform worship with mustard oil, curd, sesame oil, black gram, black sesame seeds, iron, black cloth, blue cloth, jiggery, blue flower along with flowers and leaves of Akvan.

He said the puja will begin at 8 am and continue throughout the day.

The devotees will also be able to perform tail abhishek, chhaya daan and other ceremonies on the occasion.

The temple committee members organized a bhandara (feast) for the 130 students of St. Mikhael School For the Blind for eight consecutive days beginning from today.
