My father inspired me to work for the poor: Lalit Das

Jamshedpur: City-based social welfare organization Lok Samarpan celebrated its first anniversary in a grand way at Birsa Munda Town Hall, Sidhgora, on Monday. A colourful cultural programme was organized on the occasion.

The annual magazine of Lok Samarpan was launched by the guests during the programme. Meritorious students and members of the organization were also felicitated.

The chief guest of the occasion was SP City Prashant Anand while the special guest was SDO of Dhalbhum Prabhat Kumar. Many other dignitaries were present to grace the event.

They included DFO SA Ahmad and Bailey Bodhanwala. Lalit Das, president of the outfit and Rukmini Devi and wife of Chief Minister Raghubar Das jointly inaugurated the anniversary function along with the distinguished guests by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The second session witnessed a captivating cultural programme which was inaugurated by the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar.

At the beginning of the function, Lalit Das touched the feet of his mother and sought her blessings. The latter blessed Lalit and asked him to continue working for the poor and the underprivileged.

The guests and other participants were shown a documentary film based on the year long journey of Lok Samarpan showcasing various social activities of the organization. Thereafter, the ceremonial cake was cut by the guests who also released the annual magazine of the NGO.

Lalit presented mementos to the guests and felicitated the CM’s Private Secretary Manindra Choudhary and Jairam by gifting shawls to them. Rukmini Devi felicitated the compere of the programme Dr Kalyani Kabir.

Lok Samarpan is the result of CM’s noble thoughts: DC

In his address, the DC said that Lok Samarpan was the result of Chief Minister Raghubar Das’s noble thoughts and human welfare philosophy.

He praised the young team of Lok Samarpan led by Lalit Das for its incomparable dedication to the cause of society. He said Lalit Das and his team members were way ahead in serving the poor. Such a commitment is commendable, he said.

Kumar said that while many youths were caught up in the web of social networking platforms, the members of Lok Samarpan were busy for a cause. He wished the outfit members great success in their future endeavours.

Prashant Anand too, heaped praise on Lalit Das and his team members. He said the NGO was connected to the grassroots and was doing well under the leadership of Lalit Das.

He said the outfit had helped some very needy people in a short span.

The other guests congratulated Lalit for his sincerity and hard work and wished him success for future.

Addressing the gathering, Lalit Das said he got inspiration for social work from his father right from his childhood. He said his father called him this morning and said, “I am happy. Keep going ahead.”

Lalit said he was apprehensive about the NGO’s future when he had founded it a year ago. “I had faith in my aspirations.

We kept marching ahead and crossed a milestone today. The credit of Lok Samarpan’s achievements goes to my parents, my family and the people of the city. We need everyone’s cooperation and affection. We will keep doing good work to take the government policies to the last man on the street,” he said.

Message on ‘Save environment’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’

Various folk dance and dance dramas were presented in the cultural session of the programme. The performers gave message on environment conservation and ‘Beti bachao, beti padhao’ through dance drama.

They were felicitated at the conclusion of the event.

Among those who made the anniversary celebration successful included secretary of Lok Samarpan, Neeraj Kumar, treasurer Abhishek Agrawal, working committee member Arnav Kumar, Sanjeev Nayak, Dev Kumar, Pradip Dubey, Deepak Singh, Ritesh Dutta, Gyan Singh, Golu Agrawal, Sunny Sanghi and Laxmi Khirwal.

The welcome speech was given by BJYM state general secretary Gunjan Yadav. A vote of thanks was given by Pawan Agrawal.

Other guests of the event included DSP KN Mishra, DSP traffic Vivekanand Thakur, DSP City Anupam Singh, Rambabu Tiwary, Chandrashekhar Mishra, Gurdev Singh Raja, Kulwant Singh Bunty, Bharat Singh, Ruby Jha, Mantu Banerjee, Tuntun Singh, Sushant Panda and Akhilesh Choudhary. Many teachers and students were also present during the programme.
