Seraikela, March 29: A heart-wrenching incident has come to the fore in Yashpur village of Gamharia police station under Seraikela-Kharsawan district. A young man was first shot dead near Yashpur bridge. The culprits, later, with the intention of hiding the identity, crushed his face with a stone. As if this was not enough, they went on to set his body on fire. The body of the young man was completely burnt.
Police rushed to the scene on receiving information about the incident from local residents. They began investigation into the gruesome murder and launched a manhunt for the killers.
According to sources, on Wednesday, the body of a 30-year-old youth was found in a small drain near Yashpur bridge under Gamharia police station. According to the police, the victim was shot in the chest. After this, for the purpose of hiding the identity, the culprits crushed his face with a stone. After this the body was set on fire. The deceased could not be immediately identified. Police took the body in custody and sent it to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem. While seizing the stone used in the incident, a pellet has also been reportedly recovered from the spot, sources said.
